Overview

In the contemporary landscape, universities have meticulously crafted their unique frameworks for financing research endeavours to optimize research outcomes. Funded research within university precincts pertains to scholarly or scientific inquiries undertaken with financial backing from external entities such as governmental bodies, private foundations, corporations, or philanthropic organizations. Symbiosis International (Deemed University) extends institutional support to its faculty members and researchers through its dedicated administrative entity, the Research and Innovation Promotion Division, known as SCRI. This division, established to foster research and innovation, plays a pivotal role in facilitating and managing research activities within the university.

SCRI's Research Projects and Funding division has structured funded research into two primary categories over the past 15 years:

Extramural Funding.

There are three types of grants for the SIU faculty members:

  • Governmental
  • Non-Governmental
  • International funding agencies

Intramural Funding.

There are broadly three types of funding agencies categorised:

  • Major Research Projects (MJRP)
  • Minor Research Projects (MRP)
  • Student Research Projects (SRP)

This concerted effort underscores SIU's commitment to nurturing a vibrant research ecosystem and underscores its role as a catalyst for advancing knowledge and innovation within its academic community and beyond.
